CASE STUDY
Climate Controlled Wine Cupboard
DETAILS
Creating a practical feature cellar in main bar area.
CHALLENGE
Our clients for this wine cellar were in the process carrying out a modern renovation of a 19th century hotel. They had an awkward corner in the main bar area that they wanted us to transform into an exciting and practical wine cellar.
As this corner of the bar was fairly dark we proposed incorporating backlit art panels to illuminate the space, silhouetting the wine bottles and making a real feature of the new addition to the bar.
SOLUTION
We designed this cellar to be prefabricated off site and installed in one day to have minimal impact on the other site works taking place. A split system air conditioning unit, located in the bulkhead above the cellar, eliminates the need for any complex ducting, which enabled the speedy installation.
This wine cellar is an uncomplicated design that allows for easy access whilst ensuring a constant temperature and humidity is maintained. The carefully considered lighting, artwork and detail allow this cellar to really stand out as a central feature.
